Description
A stroll down Park Street still gives one the sensation of being transplanted to the Main Street of historic small-town America. It was (not surprisingly) public transportation that spawned this lovely lane. With the late-19th-century introduction of the San Francisco & Alameda Railroad, the island that was once populated by a few lonely farmhouses quickly became a residential suburb, and some stunning buildings sprang up along Park Street.

Today on Park Street, many of these ornate edifices are home to modern shops and adorable eateries. There’s something here to pique every interest. Crafter? Pore over each charm for your next necklace at Bead Inspirations. Collector? Sift through history at the many vintage shops (we like Pauline’s Antiques and Park Street Antiques). Foodie? With more than 75 restaurants, Park Street’s got something for every taste.
