Editor’s Note: Since the launch of this service in 2015, the Seastreak to the Hamptons has been cancelled because of low ridership. You can still get to the Hamptons from New York City without a car though! Check out our public transit guide.
Hampton Jitney, Seastreak and the Bridgeport Port Jefferson Steamboat Company have just launched the Sea Jitney, a high-speed ferry offering wifi, a full bar, high-backed seating and easy access between East 35th Street in Manhattan and Long Island locations such as Southampton, Sag Harbor and East Hampton. A one way three-hour ride from Manhattan to Southampton is $50. Bikes are allowed on board for an additional $10.
Visit seajitney.com for more details. If you’re looking for things to do beyond the beach, read oM’s guide to the 10 best hikes on Long Island.
