What: Thursday Night Twilight Tours in Prospect Park
Where: Prospect Park Audubon Center, Brooklyn
When: Selected Thursdays, June 4–August 27, 6:30-9p.m.
Why: Forget rowing your own boat in Central Park, maneuvering your way around tourists who don’t know what to do with two oars, and consider a quick weeknight getaway to New York City’s largest forest. On the agenda: 1) A wine and cheese party, 2) a cruise through 60-acre Lullwater lake—on a super classy turn of the 20th century-like bateau, 3) and a naturalist-led tour through the park where, yes, there will be bats.
Cost: $30, cash only
How to get there: Take the Q, S, or B to Prospect Park Station. Or the B-16, B-41, B-43 and B-48 will bring you close to the Park’s Willink entrance. (Audubon Center, 718.287.3400, prospectpark.org)
