Megabus Launches NYC to Hartford and Amherst, Offers 1,000 Free Seats

Megabus

The last time Megabus gave away 1,000 seats for launching a new market the free tickets were gone in a couple days. Thursday, shortly after wheeling out 10 new routes from D.C., the budget motor coach is introducing New Yorkers to two more destinations: Hartford, Connecticut and Amherst, Massachusetts. Travelers eager to snatch up these cheaper-than-dirt-cheap seats can begin booking now, although service will not commence until December 15.

For information about how to reserve a free ride to Amherst or to the home of Mark Twain, read on after the jump.

“There are more routes planned for Megabus,” said Coach USA’s Meghan O’Hare. “All the buses will have the same amenities: free wifi, power outlets, reclining seats, and fares as low as $1.”
