Situated in Westwood, home to UCLA and many a movie premiere, the Palomar LA Westwood is earth-friendly with a healthy does of chic. The Kimpton property abides by the brand’s longstanding EarthCare program, meaning  recycling program, low flow water systems, energy efficient lighting, and many other environmental initiatives.

The pet-friendly rooms (from $240) are comfortable and stylish, and the property offers a pool, restaurant (BLVD 16, which serves up farm-to-table American favorites), and in-room spa services. Plus, there are a variety of free perks, from the “Guppy Love” program (yes, you can “adopt” a fish for the duration of your stay), complimentary bike rentals, and a nightly wine hour (5-6 p.m.).

Drivers of electric cars receive a 50 percent discount on parking, and the hotel offers free transportation to any location within a three-mile radius (drop-off only).
