Description
The only hotel in Sonoma County to make the list of Historic Hotels of America, the lovely Hotel La Rose opened in 1907 in response to a massive late 19th-century influx of folks visiting the area in search of gold. The four-story hotel still shines in its original wainscoting, plus the staircase from the San Francisco Cable Car Barn, which graces its lobby.

Each of its 47 airy rooms (from $109), but all boast a distinctive old world charm. Rooms in the original historic building are furnished with exquisite antiques, and those in the newer Carriage House building overlook the rose garden, many with private balconies. Standard modern amenities apply, and breakfast is included in the room rate.
