Description
Harvest Moon Estate and Winery is a family operation—the Pitts family has grown grapes in the Russian River Valley since 1976. For some 30 years, they sold their quality grapes, until their son, Randy Pitts returned and started vinting small batches of wine himself. It was so good that he decided to convert from grape-seller to winemaker in the early aughts, and to this day Randy’s passion for elegant, quality wines shows in every bottle. He and his team are also committed to sustainability during the growing and aging processes.
At this unpretentious, family-friendly spot, it’s not unusual for guests to be greeted by the Pitt family’s dog, Miss Charlotte Brown, or even see Randy himself bustling around. Tastings are available for $10 (waived with purchase) in the casual tasting room or, weather permitting, on the crushpad and courtyard. Guests can use the outdoor pizza oven for a small fee, and leashed dogs are allowed.
Although wine is the mainstay attraction for Harvest Moon Vineyards, guests can also taste olive oil, which is grown and produced on the estate. The tasting room is open daily from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
