Feel the ocean breeze caress your cheek from your chic room at the Shorebreak Hotel. The hotel combines luxuriours touches (like plush beds and private balconies) with hometown surfer roots (surfing and beach photography, breezy minimalist furnishings).

Plus, the waterfront hotel is pet-friendly—and just a mile away from Dog Beach. Other perks include a prime waterfront location along “The Strand,” a complimentary wine hour, and a private courtyard with fire pits.  Plus, as a Joie de Vivre Hotel, Shorebreak is a green business, and participates in the Joie de Vivre Gives program, donating time and money to the Surfrider Foundation to keep California’s beaches clean and spectacular. (Rooms from $189 a night.)
