Massachusetts is sweetening the cultural pot this summer with Free Fun Fridays. Each Friday, beginning June 26, seven of the state’s most popular museums, historic places and scenic sites will be gratis for all visitors. On opening day, you’ll detect a distinctive Berkshires twist with Tanglewood, The Mount and the Norman Rockwell Museum charging no admission.
The season ends on August 28 with free entrance to family favorites, including Old Sturbridge Village and Plimoth Plantation. In between, consider checking out Boston’s latest attention-grabbing attraction, the Edward M. Kennedy Institute, on July 10.
Explore the Cape Cod Museum of Art on July 31 and it won’t cost you a cent. JetBlue has deep discounts on flights to the Cape, for a wraparound bargain. For a complete schedule and list of the 70 participating venues, click here.
