Description
Stanford University is surrounded by several bike-friendly communities that make for safe and easy travel on two wheels. If you’re looking for a more urban biking experience, you can bike to nearby Palo Alto, Mountain View, or Menlo Park for some great shopping and eating. Plus, hundreds of road and mountain biking trails run from Stanford to the Pacific—if you need help choosing where to go, just ask any of the experienced employees at the Campus Bike Shop.
Basic bike rentals cost $20 a day, with options of renting for 24 hours, a weekend, a week, a month, or even longer. Mid level mountain bikes are $25 a day, and high-end road bikes are $35 a day. Included in your rental are a helmet, lock, and free flat tire repairs. Optional additions include baskets, lights, child carriers, and more.

Directions
Take CalTrain to the Palo Alto station. From there, head down Palm Drive until Campus Drive. Go left on Campus, then right on Mayfield Drive and another right on Lagunita Drive. Look for the large building called Tresidder Union.
