Review: Stanford Dish Walk

Stanford Dish Walk, Stanford Ave. and Junipero Serra Blvd., Palo Alto, CA

Description

The Dish Walk is one of the most popular trails in the Bay Area- and for a good reason. On a clear day, The Dish provides beautiful views out to San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose and the East Bay. However, even on a cloudy day, walkers still have views of Stanford’s campus, the coastal mountains, and, of course, the radiotelescope dish that gives The Dish its name. The trail is approximately 3.5 miles and is entirely paved, making it easily accessible for families with young children in strollers. However, it should be noted that there is little shade and no water on the trail, so come equipped with sunscreen and plenty of water on hot days.

There are multiple entrances to The Dish, however most visitors primarily use the gate entrance on Stanford Avenue. Visitors may park on Stanford Avenue free of charge. The trail is open from sunrise to sunset.

Directions
