Trying to get exercise to fit into your daily life is sometimes tricky, especially if you’re busy and have a lot on your plate. There’s often pressure to make working out a complicated, grueling process, but it doesn’t have to be this way. You can accomplish a good workout that improves your health while still having fun.

One way to actually enjoy working out and incorporate it into your life is to find fun physical activities you love. If you’re searching for new ways to get active, here are some you might not have tried before.

1. Pickleball

You might know about pickleball, as it’s become a more common sport. Many people play pickleball with friends and family.

There’s generally not as much pressure to be up to a certain standard, given it’s only recently gained popularity. This sport combines some aspects of tennis and squash together, so it’s a great workout without requiring too many technical skills.

You can play at almost any park that has a tennis court. After you learn the basic rules, it’s an excellent way to incorporate some cardio while having a good time.

2. Rowing

Rowing is another sport that provides a full-body workout. You’ll get cardio while also building endurance and muscle mass. Plus, rowing lets you spend time outside in your area, as you can take the scull(boat) out to a pond or lake. You might associate the sport of rowing with a team activity, but it’s also a single sport.

If you’d like to get into the specific rules of the sport, there may be rowing camps or courses in your area.

3. Jump Rope

Another fantastic way to incorporate exercise into your life is to look to your childhood. Many of the games you likely played with friends or at school are great workouts. Jump rope is a wonderful way to break a sweat, and you can make it more enjoyable by getting friends or family to participate with you.

If jumping rope isn’t your speed, another good option is hula hooping. You’ll get the opportunity to develop an interesting new skill, and the process will also help you get in better shape.

4. Trampolines

If you have access to a trampoline, it’s one particularly delightful way to get exercise without even realizing it. While the trampoline might allow you to reach high heights and soar in the air, it’s still an excellent way to get aerobic activity. Most adults don’t spend time playing like this, but you might be surprised at how much fun you have.

Plus, if you have kids in your life, they’ll love joining in and getting quality time with you. You can also get into some lesser-known sports such as trampoline dodgeball. Just make sure to take safety precautions.

5. Swimming

Swimming is an excellent overall workout. Even if you don’t want to go to a lap pool and go back and forth, swimming in a pool or lake can improve your physical fitness.

You can even get into more specific activities such as paddleboarding, but swimming in and of itself works great. All you need to do is ensure you do more than just float around.

As with all pascal activities and sports, always look up how to exercise safely. Remember to drink a lot of water, but most of all, make sure you have as much fun as possible. Here are some lovely swimming options in NYC.
