Why:<\/strong> If they make it, a group of Etsy-ers<\/a> believe you will come. That is why the {NewNew} and Hudson Valley Etsy teams have joined forces to convert a local Beacon<\/a> woodshop into their second annual D.I.Y. event. This Saturday, in conjunction with the town’s second Saturday art walk series, a little more than 20 vendors will take over a section of Main Street with food, silk scarves, funky toys, upcycled handbags, vintage finery, eco-friendly wares, and unique stationary.

\nLocals and visitors familiar with the {NewNew} will see booth regulars like Nordea\u2019s Soaperie with her rare felted soaps, scrubs, and scents; Beacon Bookmarks vending their custom stamped hard-to-lose wooden place holders; and KimmChi’s stylish hand silk-screened hoodies for fall. Look out for new Hudson Valley vendors The Groovy Baker, an eco-passionate baker specializing in vegan and allergy-free products, hand-dyed shirts from Wren Willow, and Blonde Chick Studio\u2019s earrings, circled and chandeliered in a variety of metal combinations.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople are now more aware of where their money is going. They like to buy things and know that it\u2019s just theirs,\u201d said Marilyn Perez, a co-organizer for the event, and owner of raw handmade jewelry line Pulp Sushi. For a cultural and shopping experience bar none, traveling two hours out of the city to this enclave of art and rare goods is indubitably worth the day trip.<\/p>\n
