\nPerched on a bluff overlooking the magical spot where the Russian River becomes the Pacific, this aptly named romantic eatery serves up a delectable menu of gourmet fish dishes. Built in 1927 as a restaurant an in for loggers and fishermen, the Sonoma Coast treasure is nothing short of extraordinary.<\/p>\n

The website says it all. Come to River’s End for the catch of the day, farm-fresh produce, and local artisan cheeses\u2014stay to watch the sun dip below the horizon, streaking river, ocean and sky with spectacular color. A wide range of local wines are offered in the dining room, at the redwood bar, or out on the gorgeous deck. Dishes range between $26 and $43 per entree.\u00a0Call ahead (and well in advance) to reserve a coveted window table.<\/p>\n

Make a weekend out of it by booking a cozy cabin. All five cabins overlook the coast, a couple boast cozy fireplaces, and most are set over the property’s edible flower garden. The River’s End offers a totally unplugged experience, sans<\/em>\u00a0Wi-Fi, television (or even cell service) in the room, so you can truly enjoy the sounds of the ocean outside your door (from $120 a night).<\/p>\n
