The Bay Area Rapid Transit system offers an easy, fuss-free way to get out of San Francisco to destinations in the East Bay, including Oakland, Fremont, Danville, and Richmond. Four of BART’s five lines run directly into the city, and the fifth line runs from Fremont to Richmond, with transfers just outside. Bikes are allowed on the train at no cost, with the exception of certain hours.
