Celebrate the best in Hip-Hop music and culture at this annual music festival with events throughout Brooklyn. In addition to performances, the festival includes panel discussions, Family Night, a block parties, and an award ceremony. Check the festival’s website for performance and event information.
On four Tuesdays in June and July, children from ages 18 months to 5 years and their parents or guardians can learn how objects move through art projects and interactive science experiments. Classes are 45 minutes long. Children under the age of one are welcome to join for free.
For a summer of “Scary Monsters and Super Freaks,” join Red Hook Flicks for movies on the water at the tip of Red Hook “under the watch of Lady Liberty.” Movies start at sunset, with Popeye shorts to begin! Family friendly films will be screened on Tuesdays in July and August on the Level 6 garage rooftop deck of the Bronx Terminal Market. Community group pre-film festivities start at 7:30, and the films begin at sunset (around 8:30). Check the Bronx Terminal Market Facebook group in the event of rain. RSVP on Facebook.
